This is our new book. • Look at the subtitle. • This book of personal narratives contains true stories of memories of three generations of women from a single family: Eloise Greenfield; her mother, Lessie Jones Little; and her grandmother Pattie Ridley Jones.
Today’s narrative is “Our House” by Pattie Ridley Jones, the eldest of the three women. Read pages 19-23 • What do we find out about Pattie Ridley Jones’ childhood from this piece? • What are some special things she remembers about her home?
Pattie Ridley Jones does not try to describe her whole childhood in this narrative; she just describes her home and what she remembers about it. • If you were going to write about your home, what might you say? Turn to your Partner
