Journey to the centre of the Earth You start with the different layers of soil, as you go down the soil gets orange and crumbly. If you get any deeper then you might find some crystals which are shaped with diamonds to create jewels. Diamonds are the hardest thing on earth! Dig down even further and you might find some fossils. We come on to that in the next slide. Those were all the Layers of the earth! This is the outer core which is outside the centre of the earth. You then get the centre of the earth the hottest part of the world!
ROCK MIND MAP! Mountains are worn down by wind and rain Rivers carry sand, mud and pebbles towards the sea. Igneous rocks. Sand, mud and pebbles from rivers and the sea settle into layers. Some of the melted rock cools inside the earth, some rises to form volcanoes. Sedimentary rocks Some rocks get heated even more and melt. The layers of sand, mud and pebbles are pressed together to make solid rocks. Some rocks get pushed up to form mountains. Some rocks get squashed and heated and change into different rocks. Metamorphic rocks
Water cycle The water cycle starts off in the trees, it turns into water vapour and rises into the sky. Then the water rains down onto the mountains and into the sea. After that the water rises and rains on the trees.
Clouds Clouds are made of water. They have small bits of water in them called molecules, when the molecules join it gets too heavy for the cloud to hold it so it just drops to the ground. Another word for cloud is water vapour or condensation.
Elements There are four different Elements which are air, water, ground and fire. Each of them are natural!
