The Battle • William used archers to weaken enemy. • Infantry and cavalry would then charge. • English shield wall stopped archers. • Williams army began to retreat. • Williams horse was killed. • William lead a counter-attack.
The Battle • Battle began to turn in Williams favor. • English nobles killed. • English scattered and shot with arrows. • Legend says Harold is shot in eye. • Without Harold or nobles English fled.
Aftermath • William waited for submission. • After no success he marched to London. • Dysentery weakened William and army. • William is crowned on Christmas day.
