  1. Individual Graduation Committee Laying the Groundwork

  2. The IGC • Any Junior or Senior Student who has failed two EOC tests. • The Individual Graduation Committee is called upon after the student’s 11th grade year. • Composition • Principal or Designee • Teacher of Relevant Courses • Counselor • Parent/Guardian

  3. The IGC • Student must: • Sign the High School STAAR Non-Mastery Graduation Participation Contract. • Attend 90% of all tutorials offered in the second semester. • Complete the approved project per EOC that shows proficiency. • Continue to retest EOC in second semester.

  4. Committee Responsibilities • Committee must recommend additional requirements for graduation. • Additional remediation. • Completion of project and portfolio.

  5. Committee Considerations • Teacher recommendations. • Relevant course grades. • Earned scores on relevant EOCs • Performance on committee-required measures • Hours of remediation attended, including successful completion of “college remediation course.” • Attendance.

  6. Committee Considerations • Attainment of TSI benchmarks approved by the Coordinating Board (SAT, ACT, Alg. II EOC, Eng. III EOC). • Completion of dual credit course in the core subject areas. • Completion of pre-AP, AP or IB course in the four core subjects. • Advance performance on TELPAS.

  7. Committee Considerations • Scores of 50 or greater on CLEP tests. • Scores on ACT, SAT or ASVAB. • Completion of sequence of CTE courses toward credential or certificate. • Overall preparedness for postsecondary success. • Any other academic information designated for consideration by the Board.

  8. Committee Considerations • Committee decision must be unanimous. • Student must pass all course requirements for graduation and cannot graduate before 12th grade year.
