TheSense Of Touch You can livewithoutit?
According to Zoe Mailloux (2008) The sense of touch is important in a number of ways. Through it we can detect different textures as well as temperatures of different levels. Our skin enables us to detect is something is cold, soft or spiky and has sensory receptors which helps us identify some distinct types of sensations such as vibration, pain and cold.
The sense of touch has taken part of a new method of reading used by the blinds called Braille. According to the American Foundation for the Blind (2011), “braille is based on a logical system.” This system is composed by a bunch of raised dots in a particular order which depending on the order, it defines a letter of the alphabet.
While your other four senses (sight, hearing, smell, and taste) are located in specific parts of the body, your sense of touch is found all over. Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others because they have more nerve endings.
