CCMS Conveyor Control
Design Concept • A system which embodies the requirements of Occupational Health and Safety Acts and duty of care. • A system which is operationally Totally Fail Safe. • A system which is a series of building blocks. • A powerful system which offers the total requirement for controlling and monitoring of a conveyor. • A system suitable for various types of conveyors and the different environments of installation.
Features • Single cable system which may include the trip wire or pullwire. • Dual stop/start circuits and time controlled sequencing of other conveyors or equipment. • Provision to isolate mains power from any stop/start station along the system. • 250 monitored locations along the conveyor with up to 16 points per location. • Multi-point temperature monitoring/control of rotating equipment along the length of the conveyor system.
Features continued . . • Fully fail safe operation. • Suitable for use in hazardous (gaseous) locations. • Control and sequencing of other entities along the system. • Broadcast Communication System with monitored amplifier status along the complete system. • Monitored Pre-Start Warning along the complete system.
Features continued . . • Pre-Start Warning using the amplifiers or other Light/Sound units. • Optional Voice Synthesiser for fault broadcast from each amplifier along the system. • PLC and monitoring system compatibility. • Optional PABX dial facility from each amplifier along the system.
Technical Detail • The system is DIGITAL employing an RS485 data stream operating at 9600 Baud. • The power for all elements on the system is derived from the module and supplied through the single cable. • The cable commonly used doubles as the pullwire trip mechanism.
Technical Detail • The length of the system from one power supply depends on the number and type of elements on the installation. • Typically 5km as an I.S. system with full Pre-Start Warning. • Typically 25km as a non I.S. system with Pre-Start Warning. • The above is for a 25 volt DC supply. For high voltages longer distances are achievable.
Technical Detail • 250 monitored and/or trip locations along the system with 16 analogue or digital points per location. • Provision to monitor and/or control other equipment along the conveyor in addition to the normal functions such as wanders, belt rip and blocked chute etc. • We offer our own Pullwire Switch which is purpose built to suit large spacing between switches and offers slack wire protection. • It is available in brass, stainless steel and very soon aluminium/zinc.

Technical Detail • Our system is totally fail safe. • The system checks the integrity of all Pre-Start Warning units be they amps or sounders. • An electronic barrier is employed to protect the system against electrical surges and short circuits in cables and connection areas. • The system offers a very comprehensive self diagnostic display for all faults with the exception of cable shorts between conductors.
We have to-date supplied over 100 systems in Australia and recently installed 7 systems in South Africa. The Bramco Conveyor Control System is both powerful and flexible with the latest in self diagnostics. All faults along the system are displayed on the control screen.Thank you for the opportunity to present our product to you today. I hope you have found this presentation informative.
