  2. 5 S’s • Search • Segregate • Silence • Separate • Safeguard

  3. Search enemy prisoners thoroughly before transporting them to avoid unexpected attacks with hidden weapons or an explosive going off. Search the individual from head to toe and all equipment they have with them. Search for PIR as well!!! Search

  4. Segregate officers from enlisted personnel and males from females to break up the chain of command and prevent any planned actions such as resisting or escaping. This also decreases their ability to be an effective military unit. Segregate

  5. Once enemy personnel is segregated, silence them (simulate gag) in order to prevent them from talking to each other or yelling to give away your position. Do so immediately. Silence

  6. Keep all enemy prisoners away from each other at all times, even if they resist. Place them on their knees and cross their feet if necessary to stop them from moving in the squad. Separate

  7. Protect enemy prisoner from further harm from other EPW’s, friendly and enemy forces. Your responsibility!!! Don’t be this guy> Safeguard
