IMPLEMENTING THE COMMISSION’S RECOMMENDATIONSPresenter - Dr. Tanjina Mirza
What are CAN-MNCH Partners doing? • COIA 10 Recommendations • #5 – Country compacts: “By 2012…all major development partners are in place that require reporting, based on a format to be agreed in each country…” • What are Partners collecting now? • Process vs outcome measures • Almost all indicators are currently being tracked by 1 or more Parter
Going Forward: Vision for CAN-MNCH • What could we collect/do? • Strengthen the capacity local gov’t/MoH to improve data collection systems • Training of in-country workers
Capacity Building • Improving sustainability of the Health Information Systems • Training: • Collect data • Analysis • Use data to inform programs
Equity Analysis • Disaggregated data by gender, marital status, socioeconomic measures • Are the results being achieved by the poorest and most vulnerable?
Challenges • Numerator/ denominator • Tracking process • Expense/ technical skills • Reporting requirements • Same for all bodies?
Going Forward: Vision for Achieving the Commission Recommendations • Equity analysis • Open and transparent (data repository on website) • mHealth expertise • Most are collecting numerator; how to find the denominator?
Going Forward: Vision for CAN-MNCH • Definition and clarity • Repository of information • Tools • Data (counts/ rates?) • Results, case studies, M&E reports • With agreement of members & funding bodies could we share mid-term and final reporting?
