Benefits of Exchange Trips • Enhance Chinese language skills • Direct interaction with native speakers • Apply classroom learning to authentic situations • Enrich cultural experiences • First hand experience with cultural differences and similarities • Promote global understanding • Develop a global view of an evolving and increasingly connected world • Gain an appreciation for Chinese perspective and view point

  3. Preliminary Travel Plan • When • Wednesday April 10 ~ Sunday April 21 (12 days) • CCHS Spring break April 16 ~ April 21 • Students miss only 3 days of school • Who • Up to 15 students who are currently studying Chinese • 2 chaperone teachers

Where– 4 major cities • Beijing (3 days) Forbidden City, TianAnmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Ming Tombs, Summer Palace, National Zoo, Olympic Park • Xi’an (2 days) Terra Cotta Warrior, City Wall ,Wild Goose Pagoda and the Great Mosque,Banpo Museum • Hangzhou (4 days) West Lake, Museums, host families, ChangheHigh School  • Shanghai (2 days) Yu Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, Bund, Shanghai Museum, TV Tower

EstimatedCost • $2,400 ~ 2,700 per student • Fair includes all stops • Air fare from Boston to/from China • Air fare from Beijing to Xi’an, to Hangzhou; • High Speed Train fare from Hangzhou to Shanghai; • All meals including daily breakfast • All sightseeing fees • Double occupancy hotel room • CHHS and host families will take care of Hangzhou’scost
