Amongst the first Indian Companies’ operating in the ITES/ BPO space, Vishal started its enterprise with a humble 3000 square feet of office space, a personnel strength of 30 and a turnover close to US$ 250,000, generated from Data Digitization and Conversion Services in its first year of Operation. Today, Vishal has grown into a US$ 13 million, multifaceted ITES/ BPO Company, covering a range of I.T. enabled / BPO services, with the exception of voice based services. Our business premises have grown to 15,000 square feet, and are located in the metropolitan cities of Mumbai (Bombay) and Chennai (Madras).

4. Basiz, a Fund Accounting service KPO was incorporated as a Private Limited Company in 2006. Basiz services Fund Managers, Administrators, Custodians and Prime Brokers. Based out of Chennai, India, Basiz specializes in various accounting standards and instrument structures, and primarily focuses on servicing Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds, Private Equity Firms, Family Offices, Insurance Portfolios and Managed Accounts. Till date, Basiz has executed and administered more than 150 NAV’s and 970 Financial Statements. International clients include reputed blue chip banks and stand-alone fund managers. Today, Basiz enjoys 3% of the global market share of the Hedge Fund Reporting business. Operating in a market which demands high quality information on a timely basis, the Company has an excellent reputation amongst its blue chip client base for quality delivery and many of its client relationships have existed for the last two years.

5. Tutis Digital Publishing Services Pvt. Ltd. TDPL was founded in 2007 as a publisher of Classic books. Tutis Digital Publishing Pvt. Ltd. has a catalog of 5,000 Titles, one of the largest collections of Classics published till date. TDPL titles are sold in over 35 Online Stores such as Amazon, The Book Depository, Barnes and Nobles, W H Smith, Foyles, Waterstones and Ebay worldwide, covering countries such as the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Norway, Estonia, South Africa, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and India TDPL's latest venture is an Online Bookstore/ Social Networking Website. This store, known as Coral Hub, is an online store for the Indian Market, which catalogs and sells books covering genres from fiction, nonfiction, travel, history to various education titles, in addition to the Classics Published by TDPL itself.

Vishal’s Services Include: Data Capture and Digitization • We provide document scanning and data capture services, covering high volume scanning of documents and microfilms, automated data and forms capture, manual keying-in from image data, and OCR to convert any form of information to electronic datafile format. • We have expertise in handling microfilms in the form of film rolls, microfiche and aperture cards, and have mastered the art of black striping sensitive data from records for publication. Data Conversion • Our tried and tested conversion process produces the high quality and consistent data. * We help customers in migration of their existing data to desired formats, for example, from PDF to HTML/RTF/Word & Quark/Word/HTML to PDF. • We also provide data conversion support for major formats such as SGML, XML, FrameMaker, WordPerfect, Interleaf, Xyvision, Folio and Image formats.

E-Publishing • We offer world-class production support to Nodal Agencies, Government and Semi Government Organizations, NGO’s, Publishing Houses etc. delivering consistent quality services right from data capture to conversion in XML,SGML and/or HTML and other structured formats, extending to e-Publishing through On-Line Journals, E-Books and CD-ROMs. We have capabilities in handling pagination software such as InDesign/QuarkExpress, TeX & LaTex and manage foreign languages with predominant English alphabets. Any other foreign languages are managed as image processing projects. Our services bring many advantages to Publishers, like reduced storage needs, quick revision and quicker launch and withdrawals in tune to market response. • VITL is converting conventional printed books in the form of Large Print Books, for visual impaired. VITL is also converting conventional printed books to XML code for NGO’s servicing the blind and visually impaired, which in turn is converted to Braille and audio books.

9. Digital Library Solutions Digital Library Solutions is fast becoming an important Services vertical for us. A service of social significance, we help the visually challenged and the blind access with ease quality reading material on their desktop through the Internet. We shall be tying up with multiple NGO’s for make a difference in the lives of the visually impaired and the blind. This is a new vertical Vishal has introduced and will start its marketing of this activity soon.

Print on Demand Conversion Print on Demand Conversion is a natural addition of our Digital Library Solutions, that is, apart from making available books in digitized format in an online library, we provide services to make these books available in Print Ready Format as P.O.D. Our customers for these services include on-line book stores, on-line P.O.D. (Print on Demand) publishers etc.

Digital Library Solutions • Vishalconverts popular reading material, such as books to a readable electronic format, uploads the same to a Digital Repository (Library) and catalogues the contents, which can be downloaded by the end user to read/ refer at leisure. • Digital Library Solutionsprovide navigation of the Digital Library through a browser for normal/ regular readers, as well as the blind and visually impaired. A normal reader can browse the Digital Library using regular browsers like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, surf the contents of the Digital Library and carry out all transactions as conducted in conventional library. • For the blind and visually impaired, Vishal has built special functions which are embedded within regular browsers, which facilitate: • The visually challenged to increase the font size of the web page being viewed whilst keeping the format intact, thus needing no horizontal scrolling. • A blind person to navigate a web page by means of voice instructions. The blind can use voice instructions to download, save, read at will, stop, go back or go forward, go to the page where stopped and so on. Entire contents can be put on audio for the blind to hear through our Text to Speech utility.

Print on Demand Conversion Services • POD activities consist of conversion of the books to print ready high resolution PDF format in regular & large fonts. • Vishal designs the appropriate cover page by the matching the title. The job consists of understanding the material, visualizing & designing using high resolution graphics. • Our present capacity is production of 120 titles per day, and we have converted over 5000 Regular and Large Print Titles till date. • We have a repository consisting of 15,000 titles, covering a multitude of authors, all of which will be converted over time. • We shall source more titles for publications as and when required, keeping in mind the market demands and also cater to requests for publications from authors, worldwide. • At present, we convert English language publications, titles in other languages will get included for production in the coming years. • Titles converted by us are sold in the World market through our subsidiary company Tutis Digital Publishing Pvt. Ltd.

15. Technology in use at Vishal We are an IT Enabled non-voice based BPO Company. Our core activities are focused around Data Archival & E-Publishing. Data Archival is basically undertaken by organizations for backup & recall, knowledge base deployment across the internal or external networks, conversion of formats e.g. from word file to PDF or PDF to HTML/XML to facilitate better retrieval standard etc. World over maximum data exists in hard copy, the second in electronic format & third in microfilms. Vishal gets projects covering hard copies or microfilms to electronic format or from an electronic format to another format e.g. Text to PDF or Word to PDF or PDF to XML etc. Apart from these Vishal gets projects to convert hard copy books to high resolution PDF file which is called Print Ready File. Next, we get projects for conversion of books or text to Print Ready Files in the format called POD (Print on Demand). The book standard is defined by Lightning Source UK/USA, a POD leader and subsidiary of Ingram Publisher, world’s largest publisher.

16. Technology in use at Vishal…..contd Whatever may be the nature of job it has to follow a process for successful completion of the project. Vishal specializes in scope/specification preparation, defining process, execution & delivery. The complete solution is deep-rooted in technology. Many of the processes need automation in order to increase output and at the same time minimize errors. Automation tools are developed internally specific to the project in view. This is so because every project received from clients comes from different sources needing different outputs. As the scope & specification changes, the processes differ & so too the automation. Normally these automation processes are script based & not software program based. For large quantity of data movement in order to meet deadline, the production has to work in clockwork precision similar to an assembly line. The entire operation is technology driven.

18. Premises Currently our office space covers 15,000 sq. ft. spread in the metropolitan cities of Mumbai and Chennai. Our disaster recovery plans are well established to counter unforeseen circumstances. Data Security is given prime importance. Business Continuity Plan (BCP) at our Production Facility in Chennai The objective of the BCP is to ensure that the services to the customers are rendered on a continuous basis, irrespective of nature of disruptions. The strategies in place include changed locations, addressing of the hardware, software and the associated facilities issues. The customer is assured of the same quality of output in such emergencies. Awareness program are regularly conducted to ensure that the staff is updated with the procedures to be followed in case of emergency situations, and the Management is closely observing the same with periodical reviews.
