Empirical Data Support PreK-3rd • Children enter Kindergarten with vastly different skills • High quality preschool strengthens the likelihood of continual school success for children • 3rd grade = point at which children shift from learning to read to reading to learn NJ State Board of Education

PreK-3rd Leadership Training Seminar:Reasons for Developing the Series 4 • Recognition that many leaders lack early learning knowledge and/or experience • Limited professional development opportunities available specifically focused on early learning • Need to cultivate advocates for PreK-3rd systems in schools and communities throughout NJ
