There are time when telling the truth bring unneeded repercussions -Asked by a Nazi if your hiding a Jew - Putting “tourist” rather than “Bible smuggler” on your visa to china - The issue depends on the conscience of each individual
Bearing false witness against our neighbor is wrong • In order to cause harm to somebody • To avoid consequences of your own behavior • Dictionary defines a lie as a false statement deliberately presented as true • Something intended to deceive or give a wrong impression
All liars will have their part in the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8)
The Tenth Commandment • “You shall not covet” Exodus 20:17 • This is the most understated sin • Covetousness is the spark that sets of the fuse of sin (starts it) • Jealousy, greed and lust are accompanied with coveting • King David first coveted
Ephesians 5: 3,5 • Transgress almost all the commandments • Love the material things more than you love God • The father and his son
Class Participation • “You shall have no other gods before me” • “You shall not make yourself any graven image” • “You shall not take the name of the Lord in vain” • “Keep the Sabbath Holy” • “Honor your Father and Mother” • “You shall not kill” • “You shall not commit adultery” • “You shall not steal” • “You shall not bear false witness” • “You shall not covet”
