EGN 1935: ECE Adventures Team Name: The Transporters Robot Name: Jason Statham Team Members: Cody Tromblay Timothy Ng Alexander Martin
Cody Tromblay • Freshman • Electrical Engineering • Through this class, I'm positive that I want to become an electrical engineer and possibly do work in electronics. • This class has already helped me in EEL 2000 and will make classes easier now that I have some background and understanding
Cody Tromblay (Continued) • I plan on being involved in more clubs now while at UF • I would like to be involved in the medical aspect of electrical engineering during my career. • Enjoy your time here. Relax, get involved, take the opportunities offered here, explore what interests you and have fun.
Timothy Ng • Year: Sophomore • Major: Electrical Engineering • This class has taught me a general idea of mechanical and electrical devices as well as real world knowledge of their implementation through hands-on experience. • I gained knowledge in electronic control and problem solving which would help in future team projects and careers.
Timothy Ng (Continued) • My plans at UF include getting involved with projects to further develop shop floor experience and teamwork. • I plan to intern at an electric motor/machine design company in my hometown this Summer. • Words of Wisdom: Stay alive.
Alexander Martin • Freshman • Major: Electrical Engineering • Without a doubt this class was awesome. It stoked the fires of curiosity, hopefully not soon to be literal, and gave me the opportunity to get involved on campus! The MIL is an awesome place to go to learn about robotics and everything involved.
Alexander Martin (Cont.) • This course gave me not only initiative to pursue a goal and means to do so, but it also gave me practical bases on fields such as circuits, signals, sounds, sensors and motors • My favorite device was probably the potentiometer. It's importance in systems which utilize LED's is very cool.
Alexander Martin (Cont.) • Though I have no current career path so to speak, I have learned that you don't need one to find something you love. Just relax and keep an open mind!
The Story Jason Statham has to transport illegal substances but while he is transporting he has to avoid obstacles, road hazards, manage the terrible road conditions to make his delivery to the drop zone.
Final Thoughts This class has been a journey into ourselves more so than one into electronics. It taught us that the path we were on was different than expected, and quite the interesting path it is! The involvement with MIL and push to join a group there is paramount to understanding and fulfilling this class' purpose. If you want to find out more out of class, that's the place to do it.
