The MEE program objective • Raise the skill in industry for improving the effectiveness for future competition, cleaner production and raise the extend of services in public and private sectors. • Give ordinary students the opportunity to follow qualifying study courses within the frame of their ordinary study program
The MEE progress 1. Ordinary lecturing together with guided group work during each module 2. Practical field work and preparing a feasibility study and investment plan 3. Feasibility study presentation, by groups 4. Evaluation of field work 5. Oral and written exam
Train the trainers 1. The MEE will apply to local and international expertise for course presentations, with the aim to tranfer all lectures to local experts after a short period of time by training the trainers. 2. Based on requirement, internationally experts can be invited for guest lecturing.
Credit system The MEE study program is adapted to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) which is not only a transfer system but also a accumulation system for credits, according to the Bologna process.
Conditions for earning ECTS The MEE regime is designed to give 7 ECTS after completing 6 modules. That require 36 hours of lecturing, group work and advising for each module. The last module is more time consuming and gives the candidates 2 credits after completing the module
Target groups • The MEE study program is addressing people in industry and building premises with responsibility for elaboration, renovation, maintenance and operation of technical installations in industry processes. • Ordinary students working on BSc, MSc or PhD level
Scope of the study program The MEE program is designed as a flexible training scheme based on several subjects divided into 6 individual modules: 1. Organisation and management 2. Barriers and possibilities in energy project development 3. Energy systems 4. Energy saving potential in industry and buildings 5. Economy 6. Practical case study
Subject area(industry and tertiary sectors) • Management, policy making, staff development and ethics, energy planning, operation and maintenance • Energy use, renewable energy sources, awareness of RES, RUE and information demand • Energy saving assessment, economical and technical calculations for optimal profitability, quality assurance and recommendations of data 4. Practical field workincluding feasibility study 5. Reporting, implementation and evaluation
Pre-qualification All candidates applying for the MEE training program should have a basic understaning of energy management, methods, methodology and understanding of industrial processes and operational procedures.
MEE host organisation The MEE training programmes are designed as a qualifying post graduation program. That means that the host organisation should satify the Bologna agreement concerning academic credit values and have a close relation to R&D initiatives

Cost estimation Based on the experiences from Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Ukraine the average cost to complete one year MEE study program is about €100.000, all expences included, both for international and local experts
EU policy In the EU Directive 2006/32/EC on energy end use efficiency and energy services and repealing council directive 93/76/EEC, training and education is highlighted as one of the most important measures to achieve national energy saving targets
