How to input in SPSS. :P lol!. Step 1: Open Excel File. Step 2: RUN your SPSS. When you open SPSS or PASW you will see this window:. Choose “Open and existing data source” And select the file I sent you guys (EDSA_SPSS.sav) then click ok. Step 2.1: Click on “VIEW”.

  1. How to input in SPSS :P lol!

  2. Step 1: Open Excel File

  3. Step 2: RUN your SPSS • When you open SPSS or PASW you will see this window: Choose “Open and existing data source” And select the file I sent you guys (EDSA_SPSS.sav) then click ok.

  4. Step 2.1: Click on “VIEW” Then make sure the “Value Labels” view is checked, just like with this sample. 

  5. Step 2.2: You’re suppose to see this: These were the ones I inputted.  Just don’t mind those

  6. STEP 2.3: Getting to know the file • The first column is for the month (January to December), which also corresponds to the month on your excel file. • The second column is the “type of vehicle” (NOTE: Yung mga Other: Wagon—just input them as “Other” in SPSS) • Third column is “Human Error” (only these errors are in the program: driving too fast (too fast), inattentive, bad overtaking, driving too close (too close), disobeying traffic lights/ signs, fatigue/ asleep, none, bad turning, no signal and other—so pag may ibang driver error na wala dyan, just classify it as other) • Fourth column corresponds to lighting sa excel namely: daylight, dawn/dusk, night (lit) and night (unlit) • Fifth column corresponds to surface condition: dry, wet, etc… • Sixth column is the location, either Commonwealth or EDSA (but yung data ninyo puro EDSA yan… ) • Seventh Column is presence of injury: either no injury (not injured in excel) or with injury (minor, major, serious) • Sa 8th column, dyan naka-classify ung injury so it’s either: minor, major, serious or no injury… just put complete the items in both columns, I’ll explain sa meeting sa Thursday/ Friday kung ba’t ko ginawang ganyan.. hahahaha

  7. Step 3: Input • Click on the area where you will type Selected area—I’m gonna input the month

  8. Just type in a number, kunwari “1”—then the drop down menu would show up… (if may 2 pairs of arrow dyan sa side tas click ung down arrow)

  9. Use your arrow keys sa keyboard and select the appropriate month, then press ENTER.

  10. Do the same for the rest..  easy! 

  11. Excel file entry #11 is now SPSS file #11 

  12. STEP 4: Save!  You can send it to me on Thursday or Friday  Whenever you’re through. 
