  3. Eswar Krishnan, MD, M.Phil Dr. Eswar Krishnan is Board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. After graduating from medical school at the University of Karala in India, he completed residencies in internal medicine at Cambridge Medical School in England, Chicago Medical School, and a fellowship in rheumatology at Stanford. He is currently Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of Clinical Epidemiology in the Division of Immunology & Rheumatology, in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Council study section of the American College of Rheumatology. He has published extensively on risks and consequences of several types of arthritis among older adults. These include gout, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus, and systemic sclerosis.

  4. Kate Lorig, RN, Dr.PH Kate Lorig is Professor Emeritus and Director of the Stanford Patient Education Research Center. For the past 30 years she has developed, evaluated and translated into practice both small group and on-line self-management programs. Last year upwards of 50,000 people in more than 20 countries participated in these programs.
