9. State Councils: provide a structure for its members to consult together concerning the affairs, activities, needs, and problems of the profession and the Society in the state.

Membership List request: Quarterly request for membership list by state council to keep updated master list for conference materials: providing the list will give the chapter a free state conference registration
National will also request, Why? To determine who are at large members: national quarterly payback
80% participation at state council meetings will give chapters a $300 National Leadership conference reimbursement
CAP completed by both chapters and council
Certification: Pay if you pass option: submit your application along with your designated council position listed and a $120 application fee. If you pass the exam, you pay the remainder of your certification fee. If you fail the exam, you owe nothing more. Chapter President, President-Elect, Certification Chair, State Council Member, Area SHRM Board Member, National SHRM Board Member, along with some others, qualify for the Pay If You Pass Option when applying for the certification exam.

Legislative Conference – purpose is to educate on legislative issues and activities and provide the opportunity to meet and talk with legislators
Additional legislative updates during the year Date of conference hopefully to be final in December.
