Charles Cooley and the Looking-Glass Self • 1902: Charles Cooley proposed a theory to explain how identity and personalitywerecreatedthrough social interaction = The Looking-Glass Self. • 3 main components • I: Weenvisionhow weappearto other people • II: Weenvisionthe judgement of thatappearance • III: Our sense of self developsthis interaction SOCIAL INTERACTION/ SOCIALIZATION
