Board Composition Requirements Term
New Board members are given a commitment letter which identifies their responsibilities as a Board member. They are asked to sign and return a copy acknowledging their receipt. Meetings • Board meets quarterly at individual Board members’ companies throughout the State. • Board book sent to each member prior to meeting. Typical book includes: • - Welcome any new members • - President’s Report (i.e. Staffing, Office Systems) • - Financial Systems (i.e. Profit/Loss Statements, Budget Comparisons, Balance Sheet) • - Membership Report • - Venture Fund Report • - Education Workforce Report • - Programs/Events (past, present & future) • - Communications (TechNews) • - Public Policy (Council lobbyist provides update) • - Board Members Feedback (New Business)
Strategic Planning Session COMMITTEES PROGRAMS EDUCATION WORKFORCE Issue: Refocus programs, services, resources and activities to attract larger companies Issue: What can NJTC do to insure access to a skilled labor force? PUBLIC POLICY VENTURE FUND Issue: Increase role in public policy affecting members Issue: Leveraging Venture Fund to support the NJTC
Board Commmunication/Activities ● List all board members by name in each monthly issue of TechNews; on website; and in annual Awards Gala book ● e-mail list serve for Board members ● Social events; i.e. golf outing ● Considering regional meetings by invitation only
