  1. Man and Environment Telecommunications Group 5:Lydia, Samantha, Shawn, Sherie and Tianqi 6-Resilient

  2. How telecommunications changed over the years Beginning of telecommunication: Early telecommunication involved the use of visual signals, (e.g. smoke signals, semaphore telegraphs, signal flags, optical heliographs, etc), or audio messages (e.g. coded drumbeats, lung-blown horns, loud whistles, etc), to attract other people's attention, particularly for help.

  3. How telecommunications changed over the years Modern telecommunication: As technology improved over the decades, modes of telecommunication changed too. Some forms of modern telecommunications are the telegraph, telephone, as well as the latest use of radio and microwave communications, fiber optics and their associated electronics, not excluding the use of the orbiting satellites and the Internet, which provide humans with information.

  4. History of telecommunication In the 1970s, fixed semaphore lines appeared in Europe Use of smoke signals and drum in Africa and America The internet was created in 1969. Today, people use phones, computers, etc. all around the world Hydraulic semaphore systems were used as early as the 4th century BC Morse code was invented by Samuel Morse during the 1840s.

  5. Advantages of telecommunication to man • Easier to communicate with others • Surf the internet to get more information • Get important news • Get latest updates • Find people from all around the world and get to know them better • Increase accessibility to music and film • Do business

  6. Disadvantages of telecommunication to man • Poor connections or major downtime after bad weather conditions • Difficult for remote areas to gain access • Not affordable for everybody • Dangerous as no one knows who the other person/people online really are, especially in chatrooms • Increased possibility of being deceived and tricked by online dealing • Less face-to-face communication (excluding video calls)

  7. What effect does telecommunications have on us? Telecommunications has its advantages and disadvantages on human beings. • Examples of telecommunication- Internet, text messages, phone calls • Can communicate with people anywhere, anytime • However, people are now using the gadgets too much that they neglect people around them
