  2. Check whether you need a booking / permission to camp • Arrive at least 2 hours before sunset Campsite selection

  3. Flat sheltered shady spot close to water (but not too close!) • Anticipate the wind • Watch out for branches in danger of falling • Higher ground avoids low-lying water and colder temperatures • Consider other campers • Watch out for bugs Pitching the tent

  4. Keep your site clean - cleanup as you go along - don't wait till you are packing up • Consider the environment • Use established trails and campsites • Don't build fires • Don't use a stove in your tent!!! Leave no trace

  5. Sign the hut book - on arrival and departure • Pay all required fees • Respect other occupants - keep tidy and quiet • Leave boots outside • Report damage • Extinguish any fires • Clean up - rather leave the hut cleaner than you found it • Leave at least as much firewood as you found there Hut etiquette
