Early Works 1999-2001 • Adam Killer • A modification of the game Half-Life by Valve • A model of Condon’s friend is repeatedly and violently killed • Inspired by Burden’s Shoot, but Condon is the one with the gun • Worship • Set in the massively multiplayer online game Anarchy Online • Made the avatar face the camera and prostrate itself to “worship” him • He did this for hours while others were going about their business playing the game
Waco Resurrection 2003 • A collaboration with five other artists • Created in Torque 3D Game Engine • Players played as a resurrected David Koresh • Custom hard plastic “skins” were created which were voice activated and incorporated surround sound • Players were bombarded with the sounds of “government psy-ops, internal voices, and the clamor of battle” • The objective is to “defend the Branch Davidian compound against internal intrigue, skeptical civilians, rival theologians and the inexorable advance of government agents”
2004 • Suicide Solution • 20 minute DVD recording • Recorded over the course of a year • Purposefully kills his avatars in over 50 video games • 650 Polygon John Carmack • CNC milled polyurethane sculpture • Archival inkjet prints for the “texture” • John Carmack is a game engine programmer
KarmaPhysics<Elvis • Custom built computer • Plays automatically when hooked up to a projector/monitor and power source
Without Sun 2008 • 15 minute compilation ofvideos found on YouTube • People who were recorded while under the influence of a psychedelic substance • Live performance recreating the video compilation
Twentyfivefold Manifestation • Occurred in the Summer of 2008 at the Sonsbeek International public sculpture exhibition in the Netherlands • 80 players inhabited a 40 ft tall tower and stayed in character for 3 days at a time and worshiped the other sculptures in the exhibit
