Types of Families • Nuclear Family • Single-parent Family • Extended Family • Blended Family • Foster Family
Nuclear Family • A couple and children live together • Children – either biological or adopted • Also called Elementary Family
Single-Parent Family • One parent and children live together • Causes – divorce, death, no marriage, adoption • 90% of single-parent families are headed by mothers
Extended Family • Close relatives live in one house or close from each other • It includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins • Responsibilities are shared among all family members
Blended Family • Biological parent, a stepparent, and the children of one or both parents • Children may feel that stepparent is an intruder • Children may have troubles with their step brothers
Foster Family • Cares for children that their real parents cannot care for them • They give them a temporary house • Sometimes they adopt them

Conclusion • In my opinion the best family type is nuclear family • The second best is the extended family
