  1. Welcome! Mrs. Lopez’s Kindergarten Class 2014-2015

  2. My name is Mrs. Lopez. This will be my eighth year here at John H. Shary Elementary. I’m looking for to a great year with your child!

  3. ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT! Please make sure your child arrives at school on time and is ready to learn. Students will be counted tardy after the bell rings at 8:00.

  4. WHAT TIME IS LUNCH? Students will have lunch from 10:45-11:15. It is very important that the students learn their lunch numbers. Take some time tonight and go look at the cafeteria.

  5. WHAT TIME IS PE? 8:15-9:00 Coach Cross will be working with your child everyday for 45 minutes. Please wear appropriate shoes. NO sandals or flip flops. Girls MUST wear shorts under skirts.

  6. How will your child go home in the afternoon? • Bus? • Afterschool program? • Northside pick up area (car pick up)? • Personal pick up (in front of school)?

  7. BUS We will escort your child to the bus in the afternoons. They will sit on the first couple of rows. Siblings will not be allowed to sit with them. It is highly encouraged for a parent to be waiting at the bus stop to retrieve your child to ensure they get home safely.

  8. NORTH SIDE PICK-UP We will walk the students outside and have them sit and wait for their car to pull up. We are encouraging any siblings to come and sit to help us look for the cars. This pick up area will be for CARS ONLY. You will be receiving a car tag to place in the windshield. Please use this as we will be learning the cars.

  9. PERSONAL PICK-UP This will be for those parents who want to walk in to the building and pick their child up. We will have the students placed in the hallway waiting. Students need to be picked up by 3:45.

  10. AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM Our school does offer an after school program until 6:00. There is a table out front with more information.

  11. SNACK TIME! We will have time to have a short snack time in the afternoon. Please make sure to send a healthy snack and a bottle of water only!! No Gatorade or capri suns please!

  12. Please make sure to label all backpacks, sweaters, jackets, lunch boxes, etc. • It is highly recommended to pack an extra set of clothing including socks in your child’s backpack just in case.
