  1. How Bail and Bond are Different Legally The two words “bail and bond” are often used interchangeably when it comes to Jail; release. While they are quite related to each other, they are quite different. On one side bail is the amount of money set by the court which the defendant has to pay to get out of jail. On the other hand, a bond is posted on the defendant’s behalf, most probably by a bail bond company in Harris Countyto secure his or her release.
