  1. The Amazing Rainforest By Emma Lu

  2. An Introduction A rainforest is a forest with annual rainfall no matter what season it is. Rainforests are warm because they are mostly found around the equator, where the sunlight hits directly all year round. They are very humid too, because of the thick vegetation trapping all the water molecules from the rivers etc. The largest rainforest in the world is in South America, its called the Amazon rainforest. Rainforests make up 40% of the worlds air.

  3. What’s the Difference? Most people confuse the Rainforest for the Temperate Forest, but when you think about there is a big difference. Temperate forests have four distinctive seasons. So animals that live there have to have flexible adaptations to survive the different seasons. Unlike the rainforest much less animals thrive in the temperate forest, because of the changing temperatures. Temperate rainforests are not usually found around the equator.

  4. Fauna and Flora Rainforests have a very rich diversity. About 1/3 of the animals and plants world- wide are found in the rainforest. Some of the most famous and deadly fauna and flora live in rainforests, such as : • The Vampire Bat { Named after Dracula/ Vampire } • The Rafflesia { largest and smelliest flower in the world } • The Cassowary{ Rated the 2nd most deadly animal in America }

  5. How can you help? Rainforests only cover 6% of the worlds surface and is still getting logged each day. So take action and help save the rainforest by simply: • Reduce, Reuse and Recycle • Join a rainforest conservation group • Use more environmentally friendly products e.g. accessories, cars, household items • Help promote and raise awareness the rainforest • Do not waste your recourses
