Three Ways To Use VISAC • View library facilities and their pre-calculated grids of blast points • use viewers to explore geometry and logic • search grids for specific outcomes • Run “what-if?” scenarios using different attacks on the library facilities • accidents, component damage, blasts • find release probabilities, facility kill & downtime • Create a new facility based on the library facilities and create new buildings • model any aspect of facility operation • calculate grids of blast points • use just like a library facility Library Mode What-If? New Facility
Library Mode A. Using the VISAC Library Facilities • View library facilities and their pre-calculated grids of blast points • use viewers to explore the geometry and logic • search grids for specific outcomes
Components of Facilities • Geometry Model • Buildings, components • Overpressure fragility data • Link to logic model • Logic Model • Event trees, fault trees, consequences • Aspects – groups of event tree consequences • Calculation parameters • Accident definitions
Library Facilities • Uneditable • Basic or Detailed • Four pre-calculated grids of blast points Viewers/Editors of Models • Geometry – Edificio, 2D, 3D Ray Trace, QuickView • Logic – EFTed • Separate grid viewer • Extra animations, fully textured still shots
“What-If?” B. Running VISAC Projects • Run “What-If?” scenarios using different attacks on the library facilities • accidents, component damage, bomb blasts • find release probabilities, facility kill & downtime
Creating VISAC Projects • Project – a facility and a set of incidents • Incident – accident, region damage, Quick Blast, component damage, or Quick Blast from grid • Viewers can be used to create some incidents • Viewers can display blast damage • Variety of reports available for each incident • Timelines available for multiple-incident projects
VISAC Blast Propagation • Uniform ray tracing • Air region method • Directed ray tracing
New Facility C. Creating New Facilities • Create a new facility based on the library facilities and create new buildings • model any aspect of facility operation • calculate grids of blast points • use just like a library facility
Creating New Facility • Base new facility on GenPWR • Add new diesel generator building • Edit geometry within Edificio • New building • New critical components • Edit logic model within EFTed • Include new backup diesel to train a and b
Attack Scenario • Incident 1, take out power lines, via sabotage • Incident 2, remove diesel generators a and b, via region damage • Incident 3, damage new diesel generator building, via truck bomb
Creating New User Facilities • “Facility Save As…” does NOT copy the pre-calculated grids, since it assumes user will change geometry and logic models • User facilities are stored in “…\UserFac\..” • User facilities are editable, until they are used in a project • VISAC can automatically set up grids, user can modify the grid parameters before calculation • User can edit all parts of the models
Editing Geometry with Edificio • Buildings from different Library facilities can be added to the new user facility • Buildings can be created, moved, flipped, rotated, copied, and deleted • Components can be created, moved, flipped, rotated, copied, and deleted • Logic is NOT automatically updated
Event/Fault Tree Editor • Event trees can be added, deleted, modified • Fault trees can be added, deleted, modified • Gate Logic: and, or, not, nand, nor, xor
