  1. Presentation Summary of Parent Meeting for the Hispanic Outreach Program On August 13, 2009 The Hispanic Outreach Program from MCHS held its first meeting of the school year at the Golden Gate Community Center.  Here, parents of Hispanic students learned about programs & classes offered at MCHS as well as community based English language classes for adults.  PBS team member ,Mrs. Moore, presented and explained the PBS program to Hispanic parents.  They reviewed and discussed the information provided in the Spanish brochure.  Parents were pleased that PBS has included and considered the needs of our Hispanic population.  That night two gift certificates to Walmart were awarded to parents for attending our first meeting.

  2. Master Donation Letter: Sent to Local Businesses • Business name & address here: • My name is Kathleen Wonnell and I am a teacher at Martin County High School in Stuart, Florida. This year, Martin County High School is implementing a new program called Positive Behavior Support. The objective of this program is to reward positive behavior in an effort to promote strong character and increase student expectations and achievement levels. We are also hopeful that in promoting positive behavior, we will reduce negative behavior. • In order to make this program successful, the PBS Core Team is enlisting the help of local business in providing donations and incentives for students who promote positive behavior in our school. We are hoping that with the help of these businesses, our students will be excited about the program, and will be motivated to make better choices for themselves, and our school and community as a whole. • We are seeking financial contributions as well as donations of food items, prizes, and gift cards. We are hopeful that you will join us in these efforts, and we look forward to your support in making our school and community a positive and safe environment for our students: the future of our community. • Please feel free to contact me atwonnelk@martin.k12.fl.usor (772) 370-9367 if you have any questions.
