Texas A&M Tennis Project Description – ITA Tournament The project chosen for my internship was to be Assistant Tournament Director for the ITA Summer Circuit Tournament hosted by Texas A&M at the end of the summer. For this task, I monitored registration progression prior to the start of the tournament, met with the tournament director to organize and plan the logistics of the tournament and aided with check-in , seeding, and running of the actual tournament. The tournament was a success as we efficiently and effectively hosted over 250 collegiate tennis players. This was a great experience as it tested my progression from the beginning of the internship which was the NCAA Championships Tournament to the culmination of the ITA Tournament. I acquired the skills necessary to run a successful sporting event.
Texas A&M Tennis Out of a possible 5 stars, I give this internship: I gave this internship 4 ½ stars for many reasons. The people that I had the opportunity to work with were some of the hardest working and most passionate people I have ever known. Work ethic and passion are two very contagious qualities which makes the Texas A&M Tennis program a very successful program. The skills that I acquired through this internship are priceless as I now have the confidence to leave college and start my career. The only negative about this internship was the due to the tough economic times, advancing within the Texas A&M Athletic Department was somewhat impossible; however, I have the contacts and skills that will allow me to make a positive impact no matter where I start my career.
