  2. MR Imaging of Vena Cava Filter (VCF) MRI of conventional VCF is significantly compromised due to the magnetic susceptibility and RF artifact of the devices. Catheterization followed by X-ray angiography with iodine contrast agent are required to image the VCF. Remnant thrombus clots are not directly visible, thus timing for removal of the filter is difficult.
