Mercantilism • The quest for power led England, Spain and France to competed against one another trying to gain as much land as possible. Power meant trying to accumulate bullion (gold and silver) • To get bullion meant accumulating colonies world wide and requiring those colonies to send raw materials in exchange for finished products
