Friday 22th Aug: Assembly – Dudley Campus • Wednesday 3th Sept: Year 10 Information Evening • Tuesday 9th Sept: MIPS Interview & Counselling Day • Friday 12th September: Subject Selection Sheets Due • Week 2-5 Term 4: Course Counselling* with students with regard to Subject Selections • Week 6-7 Term 4: Subject Confirmation* & Support and Advance Classes confirmed • Week 6-7 Term 4: Campus Tour • 8th – 12th December: Year 10 Headstart Week • Week 10 Term 4: Year 9 & 10 and Welfare Coordinators meet to discuss welfare & behavioural issues • 29th January 2015: School Commences The current transition process
Provision of Maths and English data for Year 9 students – guiding streaming in Year 10 Classes • Special Needs information circulated – ES, Welfare, YLC’s • Uptake of advanced Maths and English subjects – Literature and Pre-Calculus Maths • Access to Interim and Semester Reports – available for all students on S drive • AusVELS data similarly available • Introduction of Compass – record of student academic, welfare and behavioural history * Recent refinements & Opportunities
General impression of Survey Data from Term 4 2014: • 70% of students positive about the move • 54% were anxious to some degree about changing campuses • Many students simply unsure about what to expect across a range of surveyed questions • Many respondents comment on being excited and nervous • Most positive about making friends and meeting new teachers • Most believed they would have to work harder • Most believed they would feel safe Student data year 9 survey

Concerns of the Year 9 Students about moving campus: • Getting lost or being late to class • Teachers (mean ones) • Workload • Older students and fitting in • Bullying (only 10% of students were concerned about ‘feeling safe’, although 15% were concerned about bullies) Student data year 9 survey
General impression of Survey Data from Term 4 2014: • 69% believing older students and 91% believe teachers made them feel comfortable at McBride • 81% of student agreeing they felt safe at McBride • Roughly an even split on workloads and teachers expectations • Majority agreed they were treated more like adults at McBride • 80% agreed the subject selection process was well explained and understood • 87% of students agreed Headstart gave students an impression of what life would be like at McBride • 83% of students were able to find their way about in a matter of days Student data year 10 survey
