About the course: STE6239 Simulations(Academic year 2011-2012) • Responsible for the course: Lubomir Dechevski, room: D3420, tel.: 76966369, e-mail: ltd@hin.no • Course website: current materials (slides, powerpoints, solutions to exercises, etc.) will be posted to a dedicated website on a daily basis. • References used in the course: numerous, but need only: • The detailed lecture notes on the website • The main textbook source (given below in the References section) • Organization of the day in a study week

(continued) • Exercises: will be specified during the lectures • Exam: • 3 hours written exam; • Use of textbook and personal notes and downloads from the course website allowed; • Exam will be on 1 theoretical question and 2 problems, selected from a subset of the total material, which will be announced in advance • No programming on the exam • In the last days before the exam there will be given a model exam on the course website

(Short: the HPL book.) • Complete list of references (not necessary to have – will be covered in the lecture notes) (check for gradual updates of this list during the course)
