  6. PSZCZYNA Another example of a sumptuous magnate residence is the Pszczyna castle houses, a museum of interior decorations from different periods of the castle’s existence.

  8. Tychy is located among forests, in the east-south part of Upper Silesia. The city itself is different from the other cities of Silesian urban complex. There are a lot of parks and green squares. The city is crossed by wide and convenient avenues. The location of Tychy gives people the opportunity to visit a lot of interesting places, which are not far from the city.   10. ABOUT TYCHY The first mention of Tychy in historical documents dates back to the year 1467. In 17th century it was one of the most affluent villages of the Pszczyna county. Established in 1629, the Książęcy Brewery (Prince Brewery) was in operation here, crops of hop and barley were grown, craftsmanship and industry developed. It is one of the most interesting tourist attraction in the city.

  15. Nowadaysthereareabout 140.000 peoplein Tychy. Itis one of thelargestcitiesinSilesianurbancomplex. In thecentre, apartfromhistorical brewery, therearen’t big industrial plantsorfactories. Theyarelocatedinthesuburbs, outsidethe city. That’swhy Tychy is a clean and green city. The most knownfactoriesare: Fiat Auto Poland, Delphi, Lear, Isuzu.

  16. Sport is very important for the city. Football team GKS Tychy took part in UEFA tournament. Tychy ice hockey team has won the championship in 2004/05 and was a runner-up. the team “TKS Tychy” plays in the second volleyball division as well as basketball team. Tychy is also a city of education (has got its own Higher School of Management and Social Sciences ) and entertainment ( very famous, Polish, legendary blues band “DżEM” ). In Tychy you can spend your spare time going to the cinemas, theatres, to the swimming pool, golf course, bowling. You can also rest by Papropacańskie Lake walking in nearby woods.

  25. Complex of vocational/technical schools is a place with a long tradition. Its basis was the technical school of building founded in 1963. Currently the school provides education in many attractive and popular fields like: building, garden design and landscape, mechanics. There are about 800 students in our school at the age of 16-20.
