In this unit: • you will examine the Silk Road and the commercial and cultural items that spread as a result. • you will briefly study the five Asian Empires. • you will become an expert on one Asian Empire and create an museum exhibit that shows its commercial and cultural significance.
What do you already know? • Start a new section in your binder for Asian Empires. • Write Asian Empires on the Post-It Note as a binder divider, or use one of your dividers. • Give yourself a “pre-knowledge” score for each of the learning targets. • √++: - I totally know all there is about this target. • √+: I know most of this target. • √: I know some things about this target. • √-: I have heard of this but can’t remember much. • 0: I know nothing and have lots of room for growth.
Now, get ready to learn about the Silk Road and take notes. • Tomorrow there will be a Silk Road Simulation so meet outside the classroom so I can explain. • If you don’t have your homework done, you will not be a part of the simulation. • Be prepared to listen carefully to the Silk Road notes to prepare for tomorrow’s simulation.
