Recruitment of Volunteer Providers • Area Endodontists located in all areas of Palm Beach County were recruited and asked to perform one Root Canal a month for children under the age of eighteen. • Volunteers are granted Sovereign Immunity through the Volunteer Health Provider Program. • Volunteer Providers are able to receive up to 7 Continuing Education Credits. • Although services provided are not able to be claimed for tax purposes, the volunteer providers do have the ability to claim materials, travel expenses, etc. related to treating the referred child. We recommend that they contact their accountant to ensure that the volunteer provider is afforded all of the tax benefits of participating as a volunteer in the program.
