What’s the opportunity? • RRUK-A is here to bring together industry and academia to solve problems and deliver innovative solutions • It works by providing the infrastructure and networks to match problem owners with solution providers • Partnerships are vital, funding is important • Funding comes in many shapes and sizes

  3. Funding shouldn’t be the reason for coming together but …. it can help achieve shared goals by Pump priming; getting things going Providing some medium term certainty De-risking investments Cultivating innovation Getting us closer to market Supporting implementation Funding support

  4. Examples include: • EPSRC, with or without RSSB • TSB, with or without RSSB • Europe (Horizon 2020) • Other opportunities include: • Network Rail’s Innovation scheme • TSB mechanisms

  5. RRUK-A is here to help • Identifying capabilities • Awareness of funding opportunities • Consortium building • Facilitating events • …… and some funding from RSSB and potentially others
