  1. Ennoble, Empower... Restorationand Peace

  2. People who grew up in the worst years of the Troubles are the most prone to suicide in Northern Ireland… People affected by traumatic episodes in the North’s Troubles are showing signs of mental illness decades after the events, a new study has revealed… Until there is no longer first class or second class citizens of any nation. Until the color of a man’s skin, is of no more significance then the color of his eyes,I’ve got to say "war". Until the philosophy, which holds one race superior and another inferior, is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned, everywhere is war. That until the basic human rights, are equally guaranteed to all, without regard to race,I’ll say "war" --Bob Marley

  3. Restoration… Healing Truth Acknowledgment Specifically I want to talk about the "famine" About the fact that there never really was one There was no "famine" See Irish people were only allowed to eat potatoes All of the other food, meat, fish, vegetables, were shipped out of the country under armed guard To England while the Irish people starved And then in the middle of all this They gave us money not to teach our children Irish And so we lost our history Sinead O’Connor … the past always has the ability to disturb the present, even as the society seeks to move on through new political agreements and mutually owned institutions….1 Ethnic frontiers are contested places where, in a flash, the daily lives of people and the energies of political parties can be consumed in a vortex of emotions and destructive actions.1 … different groups demanding that the ‘others’ acknowledge their violence without them acknowledging their own…1 Acceptance Empowerment Promote spaces and relationships where people experience being at ease with different others…1 Research is increasingly linking better outcomes among disadvantaged groups to interventions that enhance community empowerment, enabling individuals and groups to participate in or drive organizational and structural change. 2 The conscious sense of an individual’s influence on their surroundings has been described as a sense of ‘mastery, control, and self-efficacy’, or psychological empowerment.2 Ennobling

  4. Ennobling… taking pride in yourself, your culture, your country to accomplish what you want!

This particular recording came from The Lion and the Cobra, 1997. Lyrics from “War”, a relevant Bob Marley song was also used. The song has been performed by Ms. Sinead O’Connor in several of her concerts. The various photos came from blogs such as http://fyeah-history.tumblr.com/post/23289829070/northern-ireland-c-1971 http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/cost-of-the-troubles-16340m-for-victims-compensation-163170m for-inquiries-1514510.html http://www.pbs.org/hueypnewton/times/times_watts.html http://saoirse32.wordpress.com/tag/troubles/, As well, I used photos shared on Aboriginal and Tribal Nation News Facebook. No photo credits were found. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Aboriginal-and-Tribal-Nation-News/327603401367 Lastly, I took many photos while in Ireland. There were too many from the various sources, and I could have gone on for many slides; however, the few I chose met the purpose and message explicitly. Thank you, Amy Morgan Schmidt, Cherokee descendant and very proud.
