Personal recount – a personal experience, based on events that actually happened, using personal pronouns “I” and “me” • Factual recount – recording an incident, like a science experiment • Historical recount – retelling something that happened in the past • Imaginative recount – using a person or event from the past, but making it more entertaining or descriptive using added details (that weren’t really there) There are 4 types:
Orientation – providing background information • Sequence of events – covering a specified period of time • Personal commentary – usually only for personal and imaginative accounts The Structure
