  1. Investigating Matter Science Unit E

  2. Lesson 1 Physical properties of matter • Matter-anything that takes up space. (materia) • Physical property-anything you can observe about an object by using your senses. (propiedad fisica) • Solid-specific space and definite shape. (solido) • Liquid-volume stays the same but can change shape.(liquido) • Gas-does not have definite shape or volume.(gas)

  3. Identify the state of matter for each item.(Identifica el estado de materia por cada objeto).

  4. Lesson 2 Solids, Liquids, and Gases • Atom- the basic building blocks of matter.(atomo) • Evaporation-Process by which a liquid becomes a gas.(evaporacion) • http://www.educate.org.uk/teacher_zone/classroom/science/sc_unit5c_lesson1_flash.html

  5. Identify the state of matter for these atoms.

  6. Liquid Solid Gas

  7. What is necessary for evaporation to take place?

  8. Lesson 3 Measuring Matter • Volume-the amount of space matter takes up.(volumen) • Mass- amount of matter in an object.(masa) • http://www.harcourtschool.com/activity/states_of_matter/index.html
