  2. Major cities The capital city of Armenia is Yerevan. There is also Ejmiatsin, Kapan, Ararat, Gyumri, Hrazdan, and Vanadzor. Each of these cities have a leading population. The population of Yerevan is the highest in the country. The ‘big number’ is 1,093,485. the population of Ejmiatsin is 49,513. Kapan’s number is 33,160. Ararat’s is 28,832, when Gyumri’s is 148,381! Hrazdan’s population is 40,793, while Vanadzor is 101,098! All together Armenia’s population is over 3 million, and 98% of them are Armenian!

  3. Flora and fauna The floral family of Armenia includes the Caucasian squirrell (pronounced CARcasian), the prairie dog, the wild cat, royal stags, wild boars, the porcupine, bears and deer. Each of them are unique and make Armenia’s landscape the best it can be. The fauna of Armenia has taken residence in the country’s many holes, caves or underground rooms. Some animals or reptiles you might find here and there are the grape hyacinth, black thorn, caper bush, and black thorn. Did you know that the apricot and peach are both native to Armenia?

Christian churches have been in Armenia for up to 1,700 years! Armenians also follow Buddhisim, Islam, and Judaism. Christianity came to Armenia in the first century AD and was introduced by apostles Bartholomew and Thaddeus.

  5. Geography Armenia is 29,743 square kilometers of mountainous terrain in the middle of the Ararat Valley, the heart of the Armenian nation since AD. In fact, the average altitude of the country is over 1800 meters above sea level. Armenia has Georgia in the north, Turkey in the west, Azerbaijan in the east, and Iran in the south.
