The age of Enlightenment was when Rousseau and other’s ideas of new governments were being spread through France.
The crown moved out of Paris to the countryside to be secluded from commoners. The cost was one of the factors that lead to France becoming bankrupt.
King Louis XVI came to power when the country was in great debt. Marie Antoinette was offered, as a political gesture from Austria, to be King Louis’s wife.
King Louis realized the country was in debt and hired Jacque Necker to be the Finance Minister.
King Louis locked the commoners out of the last States-General meeting. The commoners declared themselves the National Assembly and made the Tennis Court Oath.
The commoners stole gunpowder from the prison of Bastille. They tore it down with their hands.
The Declaration of the Rights of Man was issued by the National Assembly.
The King fired Jacques Necker. The women of Paris invaded Versailles. The King and his family attempted to flee the country but were caught.
Austria and Prussia form an alliance, and they go to war against France.
Marat spreads propaganda through is paper and accuses people of being against the revolution. It influenced the beginning of The Terror.
Charlotte Corday was angry with Marat’s accusations, so she assassinates him. She was executed for charges of murder.
Marie Antoinette’s children were taken away from her when she was jailed. She was later executed.
Robespierre rises to power. He accuses many groups of treason and executes them. This is the start of The Great Terror.
In the cult of the Supreme Being, Robespierre presented himself higher than anyone else.
Robespierre and his colleagues are arrested. They attempt suicide and Robespierre fails. He is beheaded at the guillotine.
