Another rule…..If the singular noun ends in y, change the y to i before adding –es. SingularPlural fly flies cherry cherries bunny bunnies baby babies
I ate a strawberry for a snack. I ate strawberries for a snack.
My grandpa has a pony. My grandpa has three ponies.
Dad found a penny. Dad found five pennies.
She gave a birthday party. She gave two birthday parties.
Another rule….some nouns change their spelling to name more than one. Singular (1) Plural (more) man men woman women child children mouse mice

Let’s look at some examples. The man went to work. The men went to work. The child played at recess. The children played at recess.
I lost a tooth. I lost three teeth. The mouse ran across the floor. The mice ran across the floor. The woman cooked supper. The women cooked supper.
Let’s make singular nouns plural The baby cried all night. The babies cried all night.
The goose ate by the lake. The geese ate by the lake.
The boy found a bunny. The boy found bunnies.
