What is accreditation? • Accreditation is: • a process of peer review adopted by the higher educational community for its self-regulation • intended to strengthen and sustain the quality and integrity of higher education by establishing and enforcing standards of excellence

Step 3: Unit strategies to achieve goals • Map unit programs and services to unit goals
Step 4: Measures/Data Collection Determine: • Measures that will assess level of goal achievement • Means to collect the data systematically • Mechanism to record/document results
Step 5: Using Results • Use of data to review/evaluate extent to which programs and services are achieving unit goals • Document findings and any changes based on the assessment results • Continue assessment process to ensure that changes result in improvement.
