This facility was the campus of the former St. Joseph’s College; an all female Catholic college, founded in 1809 by Mother Elizabeth Ann Seton. St. Joseph’s closed its doors in 1972.
Nearby Mt. Saint Mary’s College, an all male Catholic College went co-ed to accommodate the closing and this campus sat vacant until our purchase in 1979.
The facility consists of 107 acres of land and 26 buildings, some of which date back to the early 1800s. The entire facility is on the National Register of Historic Places

Through its courses and programs, the NFA works to enhance the ability of the fire service and allied professions to deal effectively with fire and related emergencies.
We support 75 Special Groups each year consisting of 3,000 participants for a total of approximately 25,000 transient participants supported by the NETC.
The Emergency Management Institute is responsible for providing training to Federal, State, local governments and volunteer officials to enhance emergency management practices in the United States and US Territories through a nationwide program of resident and non-resident instruction.
Within NFA and EMI, emergency management and fire service professionals find experienced instructors, excellent facilities, undergraduate-level and graduate curricula that enable them to improve their skills significantly.
