  2. Chapter 1: Left In Charge • Papa leaves to go sell cattle. But before he leaves, Travis asks him for his own horse.

  3. Chapter 2: What Happened To The Meat • Old Yeller comes along and takes Travis’s meat. And Travis doesn’t like Old Yeller.

  4. Chapter 3: Jumper Jumps • In this chapter Jumper is their mule. And Travis takes him hunting but he can’t shoot the gun around him, or he goes crazy.

  5. Chapter 4: The Big Fight • The two bulls start fighting, and eventually ruin the fence, and destroy the yard and corn cart.

  6. Chapter 5: Arliss’s Mistake • In this chapter Arliss, thought that it would be fun to wrestle a baby bear, until mama bear came along but Old Yeller came to the rescue.

  7. Chapter 6: Watch Out • Bud Searcy comes to tell the family that hydrophobia, is going around the town.

  8. Chapter 7: The Secret • Lisbeth tells Travis, that she saw Old Yeller taking the meat .

  9. Chapter 8: Here Comes Sanderson • In chapter 8 Burn Sanderson comes looking for Old Yeller. Then him and Little Arliss make a deal, that he can keep old Yeller if Arliss can get Mama to make him a home cooked meal.

  10. Chapter 9: Everyone Knows Your Mark • Travis gores out to mark the hogs.

  11. Chapter 10: Mama’s Knows How To Fix It • Old Yeller and Travis gets severely hurt while roping hogs in a tree.

  12. Chapter 11: Traveling By Cowhide • They lay Old Yeller on a Cowhide and Jumper pulls it behind him to get Old Yeller home.

  13. Chapter 12: Need Some Help • Lisbeth stays to help Mama around the house.

  14. Chapter 13: It caught up with Spot • In chapter 13 spot a baby calf hat lives on the farm; that caught hydrophobia, and the mother wouldn’t let her calf eat from her because she knew something was wrong.

  15. Chapter 14: Bad, Bad Bull • A bull with hydrophobia tried to attack Mama and Lisbeth,. But Travis shot him; but they couldn’t let the bull lay there, because other animals would come and eat the poisoned animal. So they had to burn it.

  16. Chapter 15: Sickness Strikes • In chapter 15 after Mama and Lisbeth get home from burning Spot’s dead body; a diseased wolf that bites Old Yeller. Then Old Yeller becomes very sick.

  17. Chapter 16:New Beginning • Papa comes home, and They keep the puppy from Lisbeth, and Travis feels better, when he see’s Little Arliss, and the new puppy playing in the drinking water.
