Consumer disputes in the EU • one in five consumers in the EU encountered problems buying goods or services (2010) • financial losses estimated at 0.4% of the EU's GDP • Estimation: • if EU consumers can rely on well-functioning and transparent ADR for their disputes they could save around €22.5 billion a year, corresponding to 0.19% of EU GDP.
