So What Can You Do? • Write a letter to a girl or boy your age telling him/her how to avoid developing body image issues. • Use any information we have talked about today. • The goal is to help her understand the things he/she can do, say, avoid, or learn that will help him/her develop or maintain a positive body image. • Look beyond the physical at who people are

Easy Changes for a Healthy Diet! • Drink 1% or non-fat milk instead of 2% • Choose brown rice over white rice • Choose a whole wheat tortilla over a flour tortilla • Cook with olive or canola oil instead of butter • Eat an orange instead of drinking a glass or orange juice • Choose a glass of water over a soda • Eat a cup of frozen yogurt instead of a bowl of ice cream • Choosing baked chips instead of regular
Active Lifestyle • 60 min+ of moderate to vigorous activity at least 3 days per week • Playing volleyball, basketball, soccer, football • Go for a run • Play a game of capture the flag • Jump rope • Ride a skateboard or scooter
Other Ways to Be Active! • Take a walk during lunch break • Take the stairs in the building • Do jumping jacks during the commercials of your favorite TV show • Clean your closet or room (you’d be surprised how much exercise this one is!) • Go for a bike ride with a friend
