Shahaada:Declaration of Faith • The heavens and earth is established on it • The creation was created for it • The reason why Allah sent Messengers • Due to it the world is divided to those who accept it, the believers and those who reject it, the disbelievers • Because of it there is punishment and reward • It is the key to paradise
The true meaning of Shahaada: • Say: Who provides for you from the sky and the earth? Or to whom belongs hearing and sight? And who brings the living from the dead and the out of the dead the living? And who is the disposer of the affairs? They will say: Allah.” Surah Yunus 10:31 • Say: In who’s hands is the sovereignty of everything, Who protects all, whilst against whom there is no protector, if you know? They will say: It belongs to Allah.” Surah al- Mu’minoon 23:89-90
The true meaning of Shahaada: • “Whosoever disbelieves in at taghoot and believes in Allah, has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks. And Allah is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.” Surah al-Baqarah 2:256 • “Whoever says laa illahaah illallah and rejects whatever is worshiped besides Allah, his blood and his wealth become sacred and his account is with Allah. (Muslim)
The true meaning of Shahaada: • Nagation: nafee • Affirmation: ithbaat
Linguistic meaning: • Laa = no a particle of absolute negation • Ilaaha = that which is deified • Al-laah = The deity Taqdeer-omitted syntactical term Haqq-right None is worthy of worship except Allah
Indeed, Allah has forbidden the fire to whoever says laa ilaaha illallah seeking by it the face of Allah. (Bukhari and Muslim) • Whoever testifies to laa ilaaha illallah and that Mohammed is the Messenger of Allah, then Allah would forbid the Fire to him. (Muslim) • No-one who meets Allah having testified to laa ilaaha illallah and that I am the Messenger of Allah, having no doubt about it, shall be barred from the Gardens of Paradise. (Muslim)
Conditions: Al ilm: knowledge Al ikhlaas: sincerity Al yaqeen: certainty As sidq: truthfulness that contradicts nifaaq (hypocraqcy) Al-mahabbah: love Al-inqiyaad: submissive compliance Al-qabool: acceptance that prevents rejection
The heart will not find complete happiness except by loving Allah and by striving towards that which is dear to Him. It is not possible to achieve this love except by rejecting all things that compete with it. This is what the words, la illaaha illaah mean. This is the spirit of the deed of Ibrahim and of that of every other prophet.
