MORPDC Online • Missouri Regional Professional Development Centers Online • provides a central location for online professional development statewide • collaborative effort of the ten regional professional development centers • design and development assistance provided by Center for Information Technology in Education (CITE)^
Missouri’s Regional Professional Development Centers • Geographically located on Missouri campuses • Created to promote professional development in the K-12 school districts • earn credits toward advancement on pay scale • work towards a graduate degree • enhance professional competencies • Assist school districts with the structuring of a professional development plan^
Collaborative effort • Proposal submitted in 1999 to develop an online professional development delivery system statewide • collaboration of ten centers at statewide retreats • portal and online course prototype developed • schedule developed to incorporate a pilot project of the portal and online course^
MORPDC Portal • Hosts an entry web page • located at http://www.morpdc.org • links to available online courses courses • access to state and national professional development standards • Missouri professional development contacts and guidelines • resources, tutorials, and a pd library^
Professional Development 101 • Online pilot course • covers basic professional development organization and structure for school districts • one credit course • Hosted by CITE at Northwest Missouri State University • content provided by the ten centers • designed and developed using Blackboard’s CourseInfo^
PD 101 pilot • Three regional professional development centers serve as pilot sites • Volunteers from K-12 school districts • Funded through the state for first pilot effort • Students registered via MORPDC portal site • Currently participating in the online pilot course^
